Best Management Practices Training, Licensing, & Certification

Loggers and Timber Operators

The West Virginia Division of Forestry provides logging related trainings, as well as licensing and certification for operating your logging business.

Trainings

Loggers can now do their entire Best Management Practices training online through the WVU Extension portal. The WVDOF is offering this as another avenue for West Virginia’s timber operators to keep up with their certification classes and do them at their convenience. There are several modules available online. As a reminder this does not apply to new Certified Loggers. Also, all loggers certifying through online training MUST take the WV Law and BMP core module and then select any other of the available modules to make their additional 4 credits.
For more information please check out the information at loggertraining.com or you can contact Jeremy McGill [email protected] or Dr. Ben Spong [email protected]

Please check our events page for the most up to date training schedule.
